Welcome to Maud Village Trust
Supporting our community, every day.
Created for the community to put the heart back into Maud.
Maud Village Trust supports the local community through health, wellbeing, learning and social activities. We provide welcoming spaces, practical support and opportunities for people of all ages to connect, grow and thrive.
Popular Services
A place where people can access support, stay healthy, connect with neighbours, and find help when times are tough.
When Maud's old cattle market closed, our community saw an opportunity. We transformed that space into something Central Buchan needed.
Today, the Old Mart Community Resource Centre is home to vital services that make a real difference to families across the region - from healthcare and crisis support to fitness, food, and community connection.
Everything under one roof. Everyone welcome.
What's Happening
From new services to seasonal events, fitness classes to community celebrations - there's always something happening here.
A History to Remember
When the Maud Mart - once Britain's largest one-day fat stock market - closed in 2002, it left behind more than empty buildings. It left a community facing a choice.
In 2002, Maud Village Trust purchased the redundant cattle market with a grant from the Scottish Land Fund. We dismantled the pens, cleared the site, and began building something remarkable: a community hub where health services, crisis support, fitness facilities, local business, and human connection would all come together under one roof.
Today, the Old Mart Community Resource Centre stands as proof of what's possible when a community refuses to accept decline. We didn't just redevelop a site - we put the heart back into Maud.
Keep the Heart of Maud Beating
Maud Village Trust exists because people believe in what we're doing. We're not just funded by grants - we rely on the generosity of individuals and local businesses who understand the value of what happens here.
Every contribution makes a difference. Every pound goes where it's needed most.
